"TOGETHER IN LOVE AT WAR" (Commissioned Art)

During World War II Professor Thomas Palaima’s Uncle, Mother and Father took a picture before they headed off to war in Europe. I was commissioned by him to paint this from the photograph.

"A FEW OF THE BAVE" (Harlem Hellfighters WWI)

Painted from a picture of the Harlem Hellfighters from the famous 369th Regiment of all African American soldiers. In this painting the nine are all wearing the French medal Croix De Guerre. African American’s served in segregated units and were not allowed to fight along side caucasian Regiments. The French requested them and they fought valiantly earning more medals for bravery than any regiment in modern warfare history.

HEROES of the BATTLE OF THE BULGE: SAVIORS OF THE 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION

This clock is painted from a picture I found online of a 761st Tank Crew assembled victoriously outside of their tank. The circumstances were not given, however, I surmised that it was after a battle, the Battle of the Bulge.

This battle scene clock is of the Battle of the Buge in WWII when the famed 761st Tank Battalion known as “Patton’s Panthers” single handedly rescued the all white 101st Air Borne unit which had been surrounded by the Germans. The 761st Tank Battalion was the first unit to fight its way into German territory.
